Moving to Wordpress

As you can see, this blog kinda looks sabotaged now. That was due to the following reasons:
1.) Tried looking for new blogger template and stumbled upon the idea of moving to WordPress. I've read posts regarding wordpress and I'm going to try it.
2.)When I tried the template for blogger, It was difficult to get going as I had to check the css and all. That's not really the big deal.
3.)Wordpress have a lot more professional blog themes. Got tired of blogger.
4.)Wordpress have pages unlike blogger that I had to rely on categories. I've already imported my posts from here.
5.)I wanted to leave this blog nice before I move. But replacing back the widgets that were removed got me errors.

So please redirect here
I have yet to update all my other sites such as friendster, multiply, etc. My WordPress blog is currently under construction. Thank you.

To IJ players who wants profile pictures, you may message me in game: Haier
and send your requests over there. Please include specific or general ideas of how you want your avatar to be. Also, having me do your profile picture gives you the privilege to bother me always for adjustments or changes you may want to have with your avatar.

The official IJ Gallery can be found here.

Other Blog Updates:
Added Salleh to BlogRoll as I find his post very humorous and interesting.
This blog is now known as EonGeo Online
Also, I will be attempting on getting myself my own domain once I have promoted and gained more readers. As of now, It has increased tremendously since I first opened my blog to the public.

Thanks :p

Photoshop Newbie

After viewing some photoshop tutorials, I managed to come up with this. It's an avatar for a friend in IJ. It's my first and I guess it's not that bad. Now I've learned some photoshop I'll be doing avatars for fellow IJ at a price of 150k (negotiable) or donation money. The banner you might be still seeing now is a work I've done using Paint (windows 98) and have to admit that it's damn crappy not only because I used Windows98 but also that it was just some crops, copy and pasting no nothing. I will now be working on more pictures using photoshop to improve my skills and also to get the damn crappy banner to trash and get it replaced with something better.

I Was Right - New Year's Day

Before anything else...

I beg to differ, what a noob comment! Are you sure that they're the only band with a female singer and 2 guitarist kind of arrangement? And don't you think you're so immature to not see the difference between Paramore and New Year's Day? I am not being biased at all as I enjoy both their music. Just because you're such a big Paramore fan doesn't give you the right to say things like New Year's Day is crappy and trash. I don't think they're making themselves look like Paramore at all. They're making a name for themselves, they got their own style different from Paramore. And do you think Paramore will like how you think of other bands specially comparing it with them. I so pity you for being dim-witted and unobservant enough that you start talking shit when you know nothing at all.

Whew, finally got that out.

Anyway, enough of that. So it really took a while before I was able to find their official site as there were lots of other similar search like U2's New Year's Day, Rolling Stone and of course the holiday :p

I found their myspace page where I learned their official site.

I've known New Year's day for awhile now (around a month from my cousin Carol) but only had the time to actually feature them today. They're just new in the music world and had their first release last year November 28 and just had their second one last May 8.

I can't find their lyrics anywhere @_@

Anyway, you can visit their official myspace for more about them. Their myspace also have some cool behind-the-scenes videos!

Additional Comment:

Ash (New Year's Day vocalist) looks so much better without make-up. And she talks cute too.

PowerBooks, The Jesus Papers

Ok, so I guess Fully Booked wasn't the only one who had bargains. PowerBooks Robinsons had some up as well. Though not as much selection compared to FullyBooked Rockwell as the PowerBooks at Robinson's wasn't that big anyway.

Well anyway, I only got one book from the sale as I've been running around looking for something to give a particular someone who will be celebrating her 17th birthday tomorrow! Woot!

The Jesus Papers by Michael Baigent is something about his finds and research with regards to Jesus' death and resurrection.

  • What if everything we have been told about the origins of Christianity a lie?
  • What if a small group had always known the truth and had kept it hidden until now?
  • What if there is incontrovertible proof the Jesus Christ survived the crucifixion?
Very catchy don't you think? I'm no religious person, and honestly I do have doubts regarding God. What I'm really sure about though is that Religions are always complicated. There are people who use religion for their own sake and to satisfy their insatiable desire for money and power.

I don't have enough knowledge to be asserting more. Everyone has different beliefs and religions they follow. Which one of those Gods are truly real? I don't have a clue.

For me, I'll just do what I think is right. That's the best option I have.

Misery Business - Paramore New Video!

The new video just came out recently and was launched by FueledByRamen.

Pretty mean video if I do say so myself. Watch it and you'll know what I mean.

Anyway, Hayley's hair have turned orange and her blonde hair's back. Cool style - but I really liked how it was all red before.

I'm in the business of misery,
Let's take it from the top.
She's got a body like an hourglass that's ticking like a clock.
It's a matter of time before we all run out,
When I thought he was mine she caught him by the mouth.

I waited eight long months,
She finally set him free.
I told him I couldn't lie he was the only one for me.
Two weeks and we had caught on fire,
She's got it out for me,
But I wear the biggest smile.

[Chorus:]
Whoa, I never meant to brag
But, I got him where I want him now.
Whoa, it was never my intention to brag
To steal it all away from you now.
But god does it feel so good,
Cause I got him where I want him right now.
And if you could then you know you would.
Cause god it just feels so,
It just feels so good.

Second chances they don't ever matter, people never change.
Once a whore you're nothing more, I'm sorry, that'll never change.
And about forgiveness, we're both supposed to have exchanged.
I'm sorry honey, but I'm passing up, now look this way.
Well there's a million other girls who do it just like you.
Looking as innocent as possible to get to who,
They want and what they want it's easy if you do it right.
Well I refuse, I refuse, I refuse!

[Chorus]

It just feels so.
It just feels so good.

I watched his wildest dreams come true
Not one of them involving you
Just watch my wildest dreams come true
Not one of them involving.

Whoa, I never meant to brag, but I got him where I want him now.

[Chorus]

The song's a revenge! The video says it all actually. It's about a flirt who's so much of a loser now when she's lost her grip over the boy she's playing with and and the other girl wins over. The part I loved best in the video was when Hayley and gang came out and revealed how much of a fake the flirt really was.

Paramore's new album is coming out on June 12th,
It's so sad that their 1st was not made available here. I really hope that paramore will come out on sale in the Philippines by then. Their popularity here is really leaking out.

Fully Booked Super Cheap Books

I don't know how long Fully Booked is having this but they're really getting rid of old stocks and they got lots of good books over. Of course I couldn't miss the chance.

The Safe-Keeper's Secret by Sharon Shinn @ P50 ( usual price of 299)
Bronx Masquerade by Nikki Grimes @ P50 (usual price of 252)
Goddess of Yesterday by Carolina Cooney @ P50 (usual price of 312)
Legend of Buddy by Bush Shelia Moses @ P50 (usual price of 288)
The Edge of the Sword byRebecca Tingle @P50 (usual price of 294)
Peeps by Scott Westerfeld @ P199 (usual price of 816, woah now that's big)

Maybe I'll write a book review sometime soon :p

Anyway, I had like 15+ books at first then my brother showed up and was asked by mom to sort the books out (so she can be sure that I am going to read the books I'm buying).
There were other interesting books like some Money Book that my brother told me that I was too young to read. Then there was the Language of God that was about a scientist proving God's existence which I'm really curious about. Then other more interesting books I thought of leaving behind because I was already buying 6.

March 19 Home Coming

I apologize for the late updates, I've been quite busy couple of days ago in preparation for my homecoming. And yes, I've arrived back in Manila just this morning. But had the whole day on schedule. 9 A.M right after arrival I had to go straight to YMCA for the youth club meeting and attended RO Fest in the afternoon. I'm really kind of tired now writing this late. Now that I'm back and have more time now, expect more stuffs to come. Thanks :p

Injustice - Choose Your Destiny Part 1

Tired of the usual mmorpgs you play? Looking for something new and exciting and absolutely free?! I was and was so desperate to find something that I got on google and yahoo typing in the keywords: free mmorpgs. Then I stumbled upon a game directory of which i turned every page clicking on interesting game names. All of them were either too dull or were just free trials then they ask you to pay. Then I came across Injustice - basically a mafia game ..with a twist.

Injustice have been running for already 4 years now. I've had a little chit-chat with the creator of the game, Mr. Morbid and he was kind enough to answer my questions regarding IJ's history and foundation before he went off.

Mafia.Org - the original mafia game was what got Mr. Morbid into making his own. The game was fun and all but lacked the depth and intensity that IJ has to offer. It took a lot of time before IJ was finally established (take note that Morbid never had any experience with programming before and he had to learn it) and opened to the public. Though the real headache Mr. Morbid had were the hackers that were giving everyone $5 and ruining the game. But he managed to drive them away with the help of friends.

What's so special about this game anyway? Heck there lots of other mafia games out there! Tell me why IJ is the best!

The big difference is that IJ let's you choose between going legit or gangster. Unlike other mafia games where everyone only has one way to go - gangster. In the world of IJ, interdependence between gangsters and legits is is a must - which I will discuss later on.

Game Basics

The first time you logged in and played maybe sort of boring. As you don't really know anything about the game yet. Honestly, that was how it was for me.. At first, you don't know where you should go or what you should be doing. But I tell you that it's really more on exploration and having someone show you around. IJ players are really friendly, so if you're new go check the bar first and have a look for a while. If you're really kind of lost or something go on IRC and talk to someone. Having someone show you around is really helpful as they already have quite an experience to tell you more.

Careers

The 2 major categories among which players are sorted into are legit and gangster. Remember that interdependence between these two immensely affects gaming. For example: a gangster who does an aggravated crime say Armed Robbery successfully gets dirty cash and will need a banker to launder the money for them. Another example would be a gangster with illegal drugs on him traveling to another city to sell them off will need an army official to turn blind eyes for them to travel without getting jailed or bribing a mortician to deliver them via dead bodies. In short, gangster can not exist without legit people.

Getting into any legit career requires studying and training while getting into the gangster world only require you to do bad earns and aggravated crimes. You can also transfer from one career to another. Ex: from a bank official you can quit your career and do assistant mortician earns that will turn you into an Asst. Mort which you will be notified of via promotion page which appears when you've done enough earns and you refresh the page.

Legit Careers
-every career in the IJ World has different ranks you can get promoted to. Ex: From being a volunteer fire fighter -> Fire Fighter -> to the top rank Fire Chief.
There are a total of 8 legit careers:

  • Fire Fighter - fight fires and save local building & apartments
  • Army - get bribed to turn blind eye, defuse bombs, see what weapons a player is holding
  • Banking - launder money, be in charge of loans
  • Funeral Service - smuggle drugs, perform autopsies
  • Health Service - perform operations of battered or gbh'd players
  • Law Service - defend
  • Police - branched out to different divisions and considered to be the most exciting legit career, you solve cases and lock up criminals
  • Mayor - run for mayor! legalize gambling and set taxes
Gangster World
-Being a gangster let's you make the most money, be boss or don of your own crew or even become godfather the supreme over crews all over the IJ World.

Ranks (arranged from lowest to most powerful)
  • Dealer
  • Piciotto
  • Sgarrista
  • Earner
  • Enforcer
  • Boss
  • Don
  • Godfather

Earns
-first things first. When you're a noob, the only thing you can do for now is earn every 3 minutes (which you will still do so even after getting in a career as it gets you the money + the experience that toughens up your character. Your character experience is not visible though but really adds up to the excitement of the game) while you train every 20 minutes for a career as well.

Just remember that as you play the game more options pop out and opens doors to more of the gaming features.

This post was not intended to replace official IJ help page, so for more info and new player guide click here and faqs @ IJ Help Forums

Cool Features of IJ:

What's really cool in IJ is that not only you can choose between going legit or gangster but each career has it's very own features. Everyone in IJ is different which really is more realistic. Plus how realistic politics can be and how role playing is taken to the next level.

-to be continued

watch out for the ff. to be featured on my next post.
  • Glimpse of the Ancient IJ
  • Meet the people behind the game

Boneless Daing na Bangus

For those who are unfamiliar with what Bangus is, it's a local name for the milk fish in the Philippines. For today, I've decided to feature what I've been eating lately and to share how much it boosts up my appetite. Lately, I haven't been eating at home due to I'm a picky eater and the usual food they (notice that it's they because I'm just staying at my grandmother's (dad side) place for summer break) prepare just isn't for me - which usually is bony fish , vegetable and occasional meat every weekend. So I end up eating at food stalls near my music school for lunch (or should I say brunch?)

As I've said, I'm really picky. I don't eat vegetables (but I'm trying ok?? just hate how crunch and yucky it tastes), and I still remember how I don't eat anything at all when I was around very young. I even remembered how I tried chicken first and thought that maybe it's not good then came to like it.

And so, ages ago I don't eat fish as well. I remembered how my mom persuaded me to. It was good, but became a trauma for me when fish bone got to my throat.

Enough of the history for now... It will sure take up everything if I go on telling you the rest of my fish-eating life.

Ok, going back, I never realized that what I was eating was called daing (which I'm not sure of what it means as well). It is boneless so I never have to worry about getting choked again.

Here is a recipe I got from the net.

Ingredients
1
kg Bangus (Milkfish) cleaned
1/4
cup Coconut vinegar
2

Serrano peppers
1/2
tsps Salt
1/2
tsps Ground pepper
2
cloves Crushed garlic
1/3
cup Peanut oil

Preparation
Cut your fish lengthwise along the back, taking great care in not breaking the skin. The place the fish skin side down in a a wide and shallow container. Add vinegar, peppers, garlic, salt and ground pepper, and let marinate in your refrigerator for 24 hours, turning the fish over after the initial 12.

To prepare, drain, and fry with oil in a large skillet for 5 or 6 minutes, or until the fish reaches a golden brown color.

Serve over steamed rice.

Servings:
4

Daing Na Bangus had been a Filipino favorite ever since. I'm not sure how other people have this fish, but there are dozens of other recipes for Philippines' national fish.

What I really like about it (with the exception of it being boneless) is the tasty flavor from the marinate and how the belly fat melts in your mouth. It also has the appealing golden brown color that really makes me drool over it.

Swans - Unkle Bob

Swans -Unkle Bob
requested by: Reginne
By my side,
You'll never be.
By my side,
You'll never be.
Cos I'm fake at the seams,
I'm lost in my dreams.
I want you to know,
That I can't let you go.
And you're never coming home again,
And you're never coming home again.
By my side,
You'll never be.
By my side,
You'll never be.
I wanted to tell you I'd changed.
I wanted to tell you that things would be different this time.
But I see you, you see me,
Differently.
I see you, you see me,
Differently.
You tell me that you love me but you never want to see me again (repeat)

I'm not familiar with Unkle Bob, in fact it's the first time I've heard of him and his song. Anyway, it's a short song just 2 minutes and a half. Well, I think it's a nice song. So unusual from what I listen to most of the time.

Interpretation: This is probably for someone who the singer knows that will never be with him. At first he was blinded by all the fame he's getting or feeling undecided between his girl or his career. Maybe he was too busy with his career that he's not giving enough time for that someone and came a time when he was asked to decide and thought that he couldn't let go of both his career and girlfriend. "And you're never coming home again" - means like the girl's given up on him for being indecisive.

"But I see you, you see me,
Differently.
I see you, you see me,
Differently."

And later on, he decides to change. But too bad it was too late by then and the girl has a new guy now.

"You tell me that you love me but you never want to see me again" Well at least she told him that he loved him, but can't anymore.

*note that these are only my ideas - so comment up if you got another idea*

Franklin- Paramore

"Franklin"

And when we get home, I know we won't be home at all
This place we live, it is not where we belong
And I miss who we were in the town that we could call our own
Going back to get away after everything has changed

Could you remind me of a time when we were so alive?
(Everything has changed)
Do you remember that? Do you remember that?
(Everything has changed)
Could you help me push aside all that I have left behind?
(Everything has changed)
Do you remember that? Do you remember that?

So we stand here now and no one knows us at all
I won't get used to this
I won't get used to being gone
And going back won't feel the same if we aren't staying
Going back to get away after everything has changed

Could you remind me of a time when we were so alive?
(Everything has changed)
Do you remember that? Do you remember that?
(Everything has changed)
Could you help me push aside all that I have left behind?
(Everything has changed)
Do you remember that? Do you remember that?

Taking up our time
Taking up our time
Taking up our time
It's taking up our time again
Go back we can't go back at all
It's taking up our time again
Go back we can't go back at all
It's taking up our time again
Go back we can't go back at all
It's taking up our time, taking up our time

Could you remind me of a time when we were so alive?
Do you remember that? Do you remember that?

Franklin, Tennessee was were Paramore came together. I've been very attached to this song which I find hard to explain. Anyway, I think this song's about missing the place where they've grown to who they are now and how somewhere else doesn't feel so much like home. It's probably when they were on tour or somewhere else working on their album that they felt kind of homesick and realized that their hometown will always be the place where they will feel at home.

Happy Mother's Day

If you watch tv, then you've probably seen Kris Aquino's (for Goldilocks) Mother's Day Ad. Unfortunately, I can't recall what exact words she said, but it was something like how much a mother has sacrificed for her children and having only a day to honor them?

I don't know much about Mother's Day history or who was its founder. I just know that it's a day (for formality sake) to honor our moms!

I didn't get mom anything special or whatever. I just greeted her yesterday (because I thought mother's day was yesterday...and even got called stupid by a friend hmmff!)

Being a full-time mother is one of the highest salaried jobs in my field, since the payment is pure love.
~Mildred B. Vermont

To all proud moms, Happy Mother's Day ^_^

About Me and My Blog

Months ago, or even years ago when I learned about what blogging is, I only thought of it as an online journal/diary. I was wrong.

Blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject, such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. -wikipedia

If I correctly categorized my blog to what kind it is, I would fall on the online diary kind because I never really have posts that are really connected with each other - unlike GM Tristan's which is more on online stuff and promotions of the company he's working in.

Anyway, going back to when I started having this blog (last year October) I never thought I'd be really serious with all the updating and renovating. But here I am now - taking blogging to the next level.

At first, I didn't really care if not a lot of people were reading my blog. But with all the efforts I've been putting up - like having make-overs regularly to make the blog more interesting. I've decided that it was time to open up and not let all my hard work go to waste

So now, I've added my blog to blogger's listing, spent a day searching yahoo for ways to drive in traffic to my site, signed up for blog directories like blog catalog!

Hopefully, I'll be getting more visitors by the next few days.

Screaming It Loud!

Okay, so apparently, I've got a new domain :p

it's http://eon-geo.blogspot.com

a few days ago i changed it to screaming-it-loud.blogspot.com but thought that some people would be confused because of other synonymous addresses.

Anyway, I've updated some stuff and just wanted to inform you guys so you know what's going on.

  • Edited Labels (for easy look ups)
  • new header (I've changed from My Own Little World... my world was never little anyway)
  • added feeds :) subscribe please :p
That's pretty much it. Oh and yeah, just days ago, my paternal grandma celebrated her 83rd birthday. I got some pictures and all but the computer I'm using is W98. So sad that it doesn't automatically read memory card usbs. But I'll try posting them up when I have enough time to transfer stuff to one place to another. So you'll probably be seeing it down this post soon.

Lola's Birthday Bash

Yesterday I sat around the couch with my guitar while waiting for my cousins to arrive. It was my Lola's birthday (dad side) and my guitar was now a day old :p

Unfortunately, not all of my cousins came - which was so unlike my mom's side family. Oh well, but at least i get the chance to bond with my cousins that did came.

Anyway, here's some pictures I've taken:

My Brand New Guitar!!!

I waited for 2 long weeks for this baby! The shops here in Iloilo couldn't offer me anything... but it was my chance to buy my guitar. They were on sale... 25% off on a certain day. And I was so lucky to have emailed 2 days before that certain day and have been given response early. So I got this at 25% off and another Php1000 off from a gift certificate from the original 20k.

It's a squier fender standard strat of antique sunburst color. I'm naming my first ever beautiful electric guitar EonGeo - which means something like Ancient Earth. I got it from the color. It's an antique sunburst which really looks more beautiful up close :)

Paramore Rocks

Pressure

I've been listening to them for quite awhile now.... And I can't deny how I'm enjoying their music a lot.
They're pretty young too. Which I kind of envy... *sob* they're just a few years older than me. But they've already made quite a name for themselves. Zac (their drummer) is just 15 O.o can you believe that?

Anyway, Hayley's so cute :p Her voice is just amazing...

Gone?

I've heard from my friends just a couple of days, how a former classmate got into a grim situation between life and death - comatose. I even heard that what happened had caught up with the media though I wasn't able to watch the news about him.

According to a close friend of his that's visited him everyday, he was shot in the head. The details weren't that clear because she only communicated with me through text message. But that was enough to tell me what's going on.

A crook snatched his celfone. I'm not a close friend of Roland at all. I rarely spoke to him except those times when we had a few chitchats about the online game we were playing. But that's enough to surmise that Roland was the type of guy that wouldn't let someone snatch his celfone without a fight or a mark of his fist on the felon's face. And he did. But I imagine that after he taught the crook a lesson and turned away he was shot right at the head.

Thus... he was in comatose for a week. It's been all so confusing. A day ago, text messages were running around about his death. But after a few hours, I received a text message revoking that affirmation. Quite puzzling? How can someone return from death?

Well anyway, this time around, I was able to watch the news about him. I don't know which information's correct, the media's or my friend's. Nevertheless, I don't think that having hundreds of r.i.p comments on one's friendster can mean any more mistake.

Knowing you, you won't be in peace. I know you want to serve your death justice. I wish for justice.

Were not close friends... But still it's a sad thing.

It's all so unbelievable... No one ever thought that you'd die this young. I really hope the one responsible for this shows up. Nevertheless, he may escape justice, but he'll be eaten up by his guilt. If not, he's definitely a devil with no sort of conscience.

Looking at everything I said, I realize how short life is. You never know when you'll die. I've sometimes wondered how painful dying is -no living person can ever answer that. How about someone else you love dies? I know how the people close to his heart feels. Like how the day the person dies, even after years, feels like just yesterday. I don't want to think about it anymore.

I just know that when someone dies, everything you got is lost. Everything but the memories you left behind. It will never be lost. The moments you've shared with them will never be.

Virginia Tech Shootings

I don't really know how to put it, but I kind of understand why he did it. After I read more about him from the BBC news website.

Well anyway I'd really like to give emphasis to the gunman's message:

"You had a hundred billion chances and ways to have avoided today. But you decided to spill my blood. You forced me into a corner and gave me only one option. The decision was yours. Now you have blood on your hands that will never wash off."

I feel both regret and sympathy for this guy. He probably went through so much pain in his life. Being insulted, pushed down, shoved off and rejected.

"You had everything you wanted. Your Mercedes wasn't enough, you brats. Your golden necklaces weren't enough, you snobs. Your trust funds wasn't enough. Your vodka and cognac wasn't enough. All your debaucheries weren't enough. Those weren't enough to fulfil your hedonistic needs. You had everything."

He hated those people.

"You have vandalized my heart, raped my soul and torched my conscience. You thought it was one pathetic boy's life you were extinguishing. Thanks to you, I die like Jesus Christ, to inspire generations of the weak and the defenceless people."

He kept everything inside him and it bursts off into one killing spree no on will ever forget.

"Do you know what it feels to be spit on your face and to have trash shoved down your throat? Do you know what it feels like to dig your own grave? Do you know what it feels like to have throat slashed from ear to ear? Do you know what it feels like to be torched alive? Do you know what it feels like to be humiliated and be impaled on a cross and left to bleed to death for your amusement?

You have never felt a single ounce of pain your whole life. Did you want to inject as much misery in our lives as you can just because you can?"

People looked down on him... Made fun of him... Treated him like trash... I understand because I've felt like that... I've felt how pain can play with your mind and push you to the edge.

"I didn't have to do this. I could have left. I could have fled. But no, I will no longer run. It's not for me. For my children, for my brothers and sisters that you (expletive). I did it for them."

To tell you honestly, there was a time when I wanted to quit and kill the pain. I thought of "I wonder if I died would it mean anything to them or make them realize that they were wrong".

"When the time came I did it. I had to."

But I'm not like you. You're weak. You let pain get the better of you. I know I'm not that strong to be saying things like this, but at least it was enough to overcome that pain and realize that those crazy things won't do me any good at all. How I pity you for have wasted your life and the innocent others.

Summer Work?

It's been exactly 11 days since I arrived in Iloilo from Manila. I still remember how I slept only 2 hours that morning and woke up late... almost late for me to miss my flight. Anyway... I've learned a lot during the few days I was here. I learned a lot from my dad. He's been teaching me lots of things since I came. Of course that is with regards to the management of our corporation. If being a bratty kid in the office is summer work or leaving paper work to dust is then I'm in for quite a summer vacation! Hahaha!
Also, too ease up my boredom, I enrolled to Iloilo's Yamaha school. The course I got was intermediate guitar lessons. The teacher's pretty impressive. And I saw clearly just how amateur I still was. I don't regret at all. I'm learning as much as I can. And with my efforts, I was able to catch up with Yupangco's Summer Swing Out Sale!!! I'm getting a Squier Standard Stratocaster which is regulary 20k for only around 14k! Hahaha! That of course is only the guitar... I'll still have to spend a little more for the accessory stuff necessary like the hardcase and amplifier(which I plan on buying in Manila instead to lessen inconvenience of bringing everything back to Manila). I'll be posting a picture soon to show you all! I was supposed to post my new shoes too! But I left my memory card reader and I don't think I have time to buy one sometime soon. Anyway I'll just reschedule the post and it'll probably appear below this post.

YMCA 3 Day Camp Lazy Report

It's been fun being part of the camp. I have lots of things to tell but... I'm sort of... well... lazy to say more than enough. So the best way probably would be to go through a brief review of each day of the camp. I got some pictures as well :D

Day 1

I got up kind of early if I do say so myself. Considering that I slept 2 in the morning because I couldn't sleep and only had 3 hours of rest (Man... I may be having insomnia already! What do yah think?). Well anyway, IT'S NOT my fault I came in late. Not really late... but late enough to have all eyes on me when I came in. My mom accompanied me to the 5th floor to see how things are and to bid me goodbye. Again, it's not my fault for coming late... It was their fault for waking up off schedule.

Then... Welcome remarks... then lectures... while my stomach ached of hunger... I occassionally had these stomach pains (hyperacidity I believe?) but day 1 was definitely one of those unlucky days. I tried holding up until lunch though ( we had an icebreaker game before lunch and I was alleged of a mistake entitling me of a performance that I stalled up and promised to do later on w/ a guitar...)

Then came lunch... The stomach pain was still there even after I ate... even with my condition... I tried to hold up thinking that it’d go away after some while... So I had my co-criminal with me to practice on the song we were going to perform.

I thought they all forgot about it after the long boring lecture... But I guess we had no escape.

Then right after the performance... the pain was just unbearable... So I was asked to rest on the other side... I felt ok after a while... What a miracle!

Then the days ends... I was still up by midnight still laughing my internal parts out with my friend Marie... We both couldn't sleep... so what else could we do? :p

And yeah… I failed to mention of having gained attention through getting injured and people giving me “SPECIAL MENTIONS” during dinner.

Oh and yeah.. here's some pictures I haven't mentioned of yet:

Everyone's busy-> Here we have cedrick fixing Iris' crown, John and Keenly at the back and Jam taping Iris' crown to her hair.

Jam, Iris and Cedrick -> still preparing for the big fashion show, oh and at the back near the chairs is Mr. Manny Chan the big guy who's been in charge of a lot of things since the orientation. Really nice for someone bigtime :D

Fashion showdown-> From L-R --> Charles from Group Y, Mommy Wesley from Group M, Dan from Group A and Iris from Group C

Here we have Marie making "chikas" with the koreans while I sat quietly at a corner (I'm not in the picture though as I was the one who took the shot)

Everyone in the group poses... from L-R: Jenny, Hero, Stephanie, Clara, Joy and Marie

Something sure smells stinky... I wonder where it's coming from...

Here's an only picture of me and proof of my existence during the camp... and I can't believe that my only picture's with 2 monkeys on the back making fun of me... (joke :p) let's make that 2 genius monkeys.

Day 2

We had morning lectures… then some activity. There was this activity that recquired us to push against each other’s backs to be able to stand… But like I said… I’m too lazy to give all the details out.
But what I would never fail to mention is the Amazing Y Race…
It’s of course similar and taken from the famous Amazing Race. It was consist of 12 challenges in all. I’ll to go through each of it as clear as I can…

1.) Code Word -> we had to pass a letter through scribbling with our fingers and feeling what letter it is. After collecting all the letters and is confirmed correct, then we may start figuring what the code is. The code was Manila DownTown YMCA… it took as a while to advance because we made a mistake on one letter. We were the last to proceed but we managed to catch up.
2.) … Wah.. I don’t really remember what goes next or what… Nevermind.. let’s just get to the annoying part. After getting 2 or 3 obstacles ahead… they were able to catch up with us because of the annoying smiley face draw lots… whatever that is… it took as a while… maybe 45 minutes to find it… We were lucky enough that John looked through the pieces of paper down the floor and saw it.
3.) I believe we came in second… but due to technicalities… we were pushed to 3rd place instead… how sad L O.o oh no! not another one of those stupid smileys! RUN!!!

Day 3

I finished doing the chorus part of the song I was asked to revise and compose. I did well… but not without the help of the three gutty volunteers who out of pity helped (just kidding :D)

And that gained me excuse of not joining the “MEETING OTHERS” activity which I hated the most ever since I was in nursery. You know… I’m blah blah.. I’m this old… blah blah… I’m blah blah blah… I hated that a lot… That’s really not for people like me… ( a loner if put in a simpler term)

Then we practiced the song and performed it in front of Korean guests from YMCA Korea…

But before the guests came… everyone talked about the youth club. And the meeting was ended with everyone wholeheartedly joining the club.

Then all left after the merienda (goodbye meal)

My Cool New Shoes :p

Ok, we were out at SM MOA, my mom was looking around for bed sheets she's a fad of. Then I decided to have a look on shoes. My old shoes was a little shabby already too. And everything was on 10% sale. So why don't I have a look? Haha, then i saw these! ^

They were so cool! The model has 2 colors available, the blue one and the cocoa one that you're seeing right now. But it sure cost me a lot! I got this for 3.8k which was originally 4.2k. But it was worth it. I don't want to use it much though... it's too beautiful to wear... haha... I'll feel so bad even if a little scratch gets to it...

YMCA Leadership Camp

Yesterday I was late again...

I checked the time. I was 5 minutes late... *whew*

Luckily they haven't started yet. I attended an orientation for next week's Leadership Camp! Pretty exciting if I say so myself. As you all know I'm not a social person. I don't talk much to people I just met but of course if it means winning... I might change my mind. So why is this camp exciting? It's my first actually. We're staying in for 3 days and 2 nights with major meals free! AND... I just paid a hundred! And hey, it's not carinderia meals or canteen food... it's from Wai Ying, Jollibee and Tasty! I bet they're the sponsors... Dunno...

Anyway... there's about 38 of us joining the camp. 7 from Sakya of course and other schools.

During the start of the orientation we were given seat numbers. THEY HAD IT ALL PLANNED... underneath our seats was a piece of paper. It had an animal name written on it. Our job was to sound like it. I got a duck. So I had to quack to find other ducks who is actually my teammates for the rest of the camp. After settling in, from the 4 initials of YMCA formed the names of each team. I suggested chameleon (to emphasize an animal that adapts to its surrounding no matter where it is). They were ok with it. But we had a tough time thinking of a cheer for it. We ended up with CUTIECOLAS instead. Ok... I did agree... but... it's... just not my style... >.< I don't care! It's just for 3 days! Better shut up!

So why did they pick that up!? Because ... we adapted a cheer from CocaCola... you guessed it. I didn't like it much at all... just being honest.

We finished off the orientation with some blue guy touring us out.

Goodbye School! Hello Vacation!

Exams are finally over and finally free! Haha! After months of school who could blame me for loving vacation so much?

Right after exam we worked on finishing our delayed project in science which can't really be helped since Cedrick left it so we had to wait for it until exam was over anyway. It's not much as we haven't been given enough time which I really don't want to mention over and over again.

Oh and have I mentioned that just 2 weeks ago I got a scratch on my left knee? I was wearing slippers then when I slipped off the gutter. And right after a week after it was done healing I got another one when we were in PICC for scout service. I fell off the van and hit the pavement. See how unlucky I am? And it's on the same spot! When I got home I almost fainted while they were dabbing it with betadine. No kidding... I almost really fainted. Good thing I asked them to lay me down in bed to rest or I could have lost consciousness.

Moving on...

After the project I went to SM Manila... I don't know... The original plan was that we go to STAR CITY. But since Star City opens up late... we shifted from Plan A to Plan B. Then we were supposed to watch a movie. A scary movie. It's not that I was scared or what... I was all ready to watch the for-little-kids movies but a particular someone didn't have the feel for it. There were no other good movies then so we got bored and walked a little to catch a cab to shift to Plan C. Ok... so where was the cab? No cab at all... I thought we were going to ride a cab... But no... we rode jeepney instead... Can you believe that? O.o But I guess it wasn't really that bad... it took a while to get to Robinson's but it's not everyday that I get to ride one.

And then we walked all around Robinson's after having a ride on the bump car. They looked for a birthday present for Troy! Happy Birthday Troy! They got him notebooks and pads of papers. Who could blame them? Troy always loved new pads of paper! Haha... and to be honest I loved paper when I was kid too :p Ok so maybe I still like paper a lot... geez...

Rock On!

It's been a while since I last posted something. I have been very busy lately. Ok, so maybe not too much. I was just off in a new world called flyff. I'm a tough and burly mercenary there in the name of Grupples. Cool huh? Anyway, I was mentioning that one of the busiest was yesterday.
I was the overall in charge of the band to represent Sakya at Baden Powell's Day. We were given a chance to show off. Talent's no question, the difficult thing there was they had no musical equipments for us. So we had to carry all of the instruments (the amplifiers, guitars, keyboards, and DRUMS!!!) to St. Stephen (the venue) and back to our school. And we even have to be the one to set it up. What a day! But then again, all our hard work paid off after the performance. Everyone was shouting for more! Everyone were very excellent audience. They cheered and paid attention.

We were supposed to play 3 songs.

  • Crazy For You
  • Narda
  • Tara Lets

We started off with Crazy For You. As the title goes... Everyone was nuts over us. And then we quickly moved to the second song. From playing Bass Guitar, I and Aimee quickly switched guitars. So then I was holding an electric guitar and she had the bass. Everyone rocked with us in Narda. Unfortunately after the 2nd song, the host finished us up. We weren't done yet... we still had one more, Tara Lets to rock everyone.

Oh well, at least we did a great job. We showed how Sakyans can rock.

Battle of the Bands Outcome

Battle of the Bands was far over. It's been a week since the competition. We only placed 3rd. It's really disappointing for me. We've managed to endure minimum bloopers out of the rest but we weren't credited for that. Anyway, our teacher said that we could have won if our song was a little more difficult. That's what he said... He said that the winner won because their guitarist did a very well job containing Smooth, Santana's song featuring Rob Thomas. We were the first to perform. At first I was nervous... But it can't be helped. We'll try better next time.

FinaL Line Up is In!

Due to the overlapping of the supposed-to-be schedule for audition of the Battle of the Bands and the Music Department's dry run practice, audition was moved to lunch time. We started out with the sensational intro of the dramatic I'm Just a Kid (Simple Plan) and continued on to the invigorating chorus and the rest of the song. Mr. Capobres (our very talented all around music teacher) then told us to wait for further announcements which he promised to be the day after. I'll be adding up more of the details about things when we win... I don't feel the fervor of winning yet... so what's the use of telling you all about it without winning the no.1 spot first? Anyway, due to the delay of our keyboardist, we had to repeat the audition all over again the next day, where Mr. Epres (our very kind and considerate science teacher) gave us 5 minutes to have a try again. This time around, we had more audience. Things weren't perfect as the practice we had during the weekend and I've been a little nervous as well... I can feel my heart pound from inside like the bass of the drum hitting hard. After the second performance, Mr. Capobres announced that our endeavor and talents qualifies us to the main battle. We'll be having another practice tomorrow as we have not had the time today. And regarding our local song pick, we are holding it concealed for now and shall be intimated soon.

More Band Updates

With only a few days left before the music band eliminations, we've been preparing. We've thought of the worst to happen. But I reminded everyone in the band to just hang on and have the confidence. We knew we would win. The elimination wasn't what I was worried about. I was more worried with the competition. Elimination hasn't even begun, but I've seen people from other years with great potentials that I know we'd be crossing and go up against in the competition. To those who are from another band at school. FinaL Line Up is not a band you would want to trifle with and go easy on. I wish you lots of luck. Work hard. We're all given equal chances. Make good use of that. We'll work much harder as well right after eliminations are over. It's time to shine!

Earthquake.... School... Music

Finally, things have been working again!!! It's been a week more or less since the earthquake that hit Taiwan had affected the whole internet! That's the reason I wasn't able to update at all.... Well enough of that, what's important is that I get to post up again!

School's back again... and I guess it ain't as bad as thought it would be. The New Year's over and I haven't even greeted you guys! I hope my belated greeting still reaches ya'll.

So what's new? Well, it has been announced that the band poster we have submitted will be assessed and I bet we have a big chance of getting a place! It's been announced as well that we'll be having the Musical Band Contest soon. Moreover, it's been clarified that our Music Subject Exam will be another band participation similar with 3rd Quarter's style. We were asked to play a foreign song and a local one. The only difference is that this time, we'll have to work on 4 songs. 2 songs (foreign and local) for the Competition, and another 2 for the exam. This means we'll need to work twice as hard. Let's see what happens... Up on us the only contender is Salt n' Pepper the band we've helped last Quarter. We're up for the challenge and ready to rock the school once again! It's another opportunity to prove our talents and skills once more to the whole of Sakya!
